Tutor Perini Corp., a civil construction firm headquartered in Sylmar, California, recently secured $88.2 million in new contracts through its subsidiaries. Black Construction, a Guam-based subsidiary, received a $45.2 million contract from the Guam Department of Public Works for the reconstruction of two bridges along Route 1. This project, aimed at enhancing long-term functionality and safety for the local community and U.S. military operations, is slated to begin shortly and conclude by early 2029.

Separately, Perini Management Services, based in Framingham, Massachusetts, was awarded a $43 million contract by the U.S. Coast Guard. This project involves the design and construction of significant improvements to the Coast Guard's facility at East Tongue Point in Astoria, Oregon. The scope includes new piers, floating docks, a cutter support facility, demolition, dredging, and utility upgrades, with substantial completion expected in May 2029.

These new contracts will contribute to Tutor Perini's third-quarter backlog, which stood at $19.9 billion as of June 30. The company continues work on several large-scale projects, including Phases 2 and 3 of the Metro D Line subway extension in Los Angeles, valued at approximately $6 billion, which are anticipated to open next year ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. Developers and lenders should note the consistent flow of large-scale infrastructure projects for major contractors.
