Wood Framing Progresses on 40-Unit Affordable Housing Project in Los Angeles’ Wilmington Neighborhood

Wood framing is advancing rapidly for Safe Harbor II, a new affordable housing complex located at 728 Lagoon Avenue in the Wilmington neighborhood of Los Angeles. Developed by Holos Communities, the four-story project broke ground earlier this year and is designed to provide 40 apartments, with 39 specifically designated as supportive housing units. This development aims to address critical housing needs in the area by offering comprehensive on-site amenities and services.

The complex, designed by LOHA, will feature three courtyards, a community room, a garden, and dedicated offices for supportive services, alongside on-site property management. These integrated features are crucial for fostering a stable and supportive environment for residents, enhancing the project's long-term viability. Holos Communities is also behind Safe Harbor I, a nearby project at 828 W. Anaheim Street, which will add another 50 apartments upon completion. The ongoing construction of Safe Harbor II signifies continued investment in accessible housing solutions, underscoring the importance of such projects for developers and lenders focused on community impact and social infrastructure in the Los Angeles region.
