California Housing Experts to Convene on State Growth and Opportunity
The Terner Center and Terner Labs are preparing to host their annual colloquium in San Francisco, focusing on the critical discussions surrounding housing growth and opportunity throughout California. Scheduled for November 12, the event will gather experts one week after the state elections to address how new state leaders can effectively create the growth needed to expand opportunities and strengthen communities statewide.
The colloquium aims to explore fundamental questions, including the requirements for building places where all residents can thrive and the political, institutional, and civic leadership essential for realizing this future. The program will feature a keynote address by Majora Carter, a MacArthur Fellow and urban revitalization expert. A panel discussion will follow, including Addisu Demissie of Future Forward USA, Jason Elliott from Versus Solutions, and Chione Flegal of Housing California, with David Garcia of the Terner Center moderating.
This gathering is particularly relevant for developers, architects, and land-use professionals, as it directly addresses the policy landscape and strategic approaches required to navigate California's housing challenges and future development. The insights shared will offer practical implications for planning and investment in the state's evolving real estate environment.
