The Wells Fargo Plaza, a 71-story skyscraper located at 1000 Louisiana Street in downtown Houston, has been put up for sale. This transaction could represent one of Houston's most significant office building deals in recent years. Standing 992 feet tall, the building is recognized as the third-tallest tower in Texas.

Developed by Century Development and opened in 1983, the 1.7 million-square-foot property is currently 70.6% occupied. Key tenants include Wells Fargo, NextDecade, PwC, Susman Godfrey law firm, and the Adair restaurant. The building's current owners, which include Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and the New York State Common Retirement Fund, have engaged JLL Capital Markets brokers Jeff Hollinden and Kevin McConn to manage the sale.

The tower, designed by Richard Keating of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, has undergone several name changes since its opening as Allied Bank Plaza. Its listing follows other notable Houston office sales, such as the Williams Tower and the Bank of America Tower. This sale offers a major investment opportunity in the Houston commercial real estate market.
