The construction of the Continental Coliseum, the future home for the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder, is progressing with a joint venture of Flintco and Mortenson initiating significant concrete work. The team has begun pouring the first of more than 18 elevated concrete decks across the mezzanine and concourse levels of the 750,000-square-foot venue. Additionally, construction has started on the loading dock walls on the east side, crucial for back-of-house operations and logistical access.

Located in Oklahoma City on the former Myriad Convention Center site, the project was awarded to the JV by the Oklahoma City Council in March 2025 with a budget exceeding $900 million. Groundbreaking occurred in March, and the project aims for completion by summer 2028. Ellen Becker, project executive for the JV, noted the use of a phased design progression and bidding approach, a first for a project of this scale in Oklahoma City. Two crews are working concurrently to meet the demanding schedule, with structural steel work targeted for 2027. This development signifies a major civic and economic investment for the region.
