Flight Club, an international chain of darts-themed entertainment venues operated in North America by State of Play Hospitality, is preparing to open its inaugural New York City location at 31 Union Square West. This marks the 12th U.S. venue for the U.K.-based brand, known for its upscale Victorian English pub aesthetic and social darts experience.

The selection of 31 Union Square West was deliberate, aligning with Flight Club's strategy of leasing historically and architecturally significant buildings. Constructed between 1902 and 1903, the property previously served as the headquarters for the Bank of Metropolis and later housed the Blue Water Grill restaurant from 1996 to 2019. Toby Harris, president and CEO of State of Play Hospitality, highlighted the building's unique history and its location within an active restaurant and entertainment hub as key factors.

Renovations included removing a mezzanine level installed by the previous tenant, Blue Water Grill, to restore original ceiling heights and expose more of the building's marble walls and mosaic floor tiles. The design retains many original features, particularly the ground-floor banking hall and a grand marble staircase, while incorporating Flight Club's signature elements like high ceilings and "ring lights." The venue is targeting a late September or early October opening, with plans for additional Manhattan locations. This development signifies continued investment in experiential retail and entertainment within New York City's commercial real estate market.
