Brassica to Open Second Houston-Area Restaurant in Sugar Land’s Lake Pointe Village
Brassica, an upscale fast-casual Eastern Mediterranean restaurant, is expanding its Houston-area presence with a new 3,000-square-foot location in Sugar Land. The Columbus, Ohio-founded eatery has signed a lease at Lake Pointe Village, a retail center anchored by Whole Foods at 15820 Southwest Freeway. This marks Brassica's second outpost in the region, following its initial Houston-area opening in March 2026 at The Shoppes at San Felipe in Memorial.
Kevin Malhame, Founder and CEO of Northstar Restaurant Group and Brassica, expressed enthusiasm for the community's support since their first Houston opening. The new Sugar Land restaurant will occupy the space previously held by Paradise Grills in Suite 300, located within the First Colony community at Highway 59 and Highway 6. The company plans to open this location in the first quarter of 2027.
Brassica's expansion is supported by a minority investment from Chipotle’s Cultivate Next fund, secured in 2024, aimed at scaling the concept and entering new markets. The restaurant, known for its organically-sourced Eastern Mediterranean menu, selects locations near gourmet grocers and upscale retail. This new lease demonstrates continued growth in the fast-casual dining sector and active retail leasing in suburban Houston markets like Sugar Land.
