Hines Announces Co-CEO Transition, Jeff Hines to Become Chairman
Hines, the Houston-based global real estate firm, has announced a planned leadership transition set to take effect on January 1, 2027. Adam Hines will step into the role of Co-CEO, working alongside Laura Hines-Pierce. Both are grandchildren of the company's founder, Gerald D. Hines, marking a generational shift in leadership.
Jeffrey C. Hines, who currently serves as Co-CEO with his daughter Laura, will transition to Chairman. In this new capacity, Jeff Hines will move away from day-to-day management, focusing instead on advising the new Co-CEOs. The company also announced other executive changes, with David Steinbach becoming President and Alfonso Munk taking on the role of Global CIO. Hines, founded in 1957, manages approximately $91 billion in assets across 29 countries. The new Co-CEOs expressed an ambition to apply the firm's nearly 70 years of experience to a broader opportunity set, connecting strengths across its global platform. For developers and investors, this transition signals a strategic continuity and potential for expanded investment focus from a major industry player.
