Hines Appoints Founder’s Grandchildren as Co-CEOs in Leadership Transition
Hines, the Houston-based global real estate firm, has announced a significant leadership transition set to take effect on January 1, 2027. Adam Hines will assume the role of Co-CEO, joining Laura Hines-Pierce, who has served as Co-CEO for over five years. Both Adam and Laura are grandchildren of the company's founder, Gerald D. Hines.
Jeffrey C. Hines, who previously served as Co-CEO alongside his daughter Laura, will transition to the role of Chairman. In this capacity, he will step back from daily operational management to focus on advising the new Co-CEOs. Jeff Hines expressed strong confidence in their leadership, noting their contributions to growing the business across Europe, private wealth, and capital formation.
Further executive changes include David Steinbach becoming President and Alfonso Munk taking on the role of Global CIO. Hines, established in Houston in 1957, manages approximately $91 billion in assets globally with 4,600 employees across 29 countries. The new Co-CEOs anticipate significant opportunities, aiming to leverage the firm's nearly 70 years of experience and global platform to expand beyond traditional real estate definitions. This leadership shift signals a strategic evolution for a major player in the built world, impacting future development and investment strategies.
