Hines Appoints New Co-CEOs and Chairman in Leadership Transition
Global real estate firm Hines, based in Houston, has announced a planned leadership transition set to take effect on January 1, 2027. Adam Hines will join Laura Hines-Pierce as Co-CEOs, continuing the legacy of the company founded by their grandfather, Gerald D. Hines. Current Co-CEO Jeff Hines will transition to Chairman, stepping back from daily management to focus on advising the new Co-CEOs.
This strategic shift aims to leverage the experience of both Adam, who has contributed to the growth of the firm's European, private wealth, and capital formation sectors, and Laura, who has served as Co-CEO for over five years. Additional executive changes include David Steinbach becoming President and Alfonso Munk taking on the role of Global CIO. Hines, established in 1957, manages approximately $91 billion in assets globally across 29 countries. The new leadership expressed ambition to apply the firm's nearly 70 years of experience to a broader range of opportunities within the built world.
For developers, architects, and lenders, this transition signals continuity within Hines's leadership while potentially introducing new strategic priorities under the guidance of the third generation.
