The 71-story Wells Fargo Plaza, a prominent 1.7 million-square-foot office skyscraper in downtown Houston, has been officially listed for sale. This transaction is anticipated to be one of the largest office building deals in Houston in recent years. Located at 1000 Louisiana Street, the 992-foot tower, which opened in 1983, holds the distinction of being the third-tallest building in Texas.

Developed by Century Development and designed by Richard Keating of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the building was initially known as Allied Bank Plaza before its current Wells Fargo Plaza designation. Current owners, Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and the New York State Common Retirement Fund, have engaged JLL Capital Markets brokers Jeff Hollinden and Kevin McConn to manage the sale. The property is currently 70.6% occupied, featuring tenants such as Wells Fargo, PwC, and Susman Godfrey. This offering presents a significant investment opportunity within the Houston commercial real estate market, potentially reshaping ownership in the city's central business district.
