Trademark Property Co. Breaks Ground on Whole Foods-Anchored Retail District in Cypress
Trademark Property Co., in partnership with MetLife Investment Management, is set to break ground on Dunham Pointe, a 202,000-square-foot retail and restaurant district in Cypress, Texas. The project, anchored by a new Whole Foods Market, secured financing from PNC Bank and has already committed 14 tenants, with negotiations ongoing for an additional 65,000 square feet across 12 more tenants.
Located at Mason Road and Highway 290, this 25-acre retail village is a key component of the larger 1,300-acre Dunham Pointe master-planned community. The development aims to capitalize on a market experiencing record-low national retail vacancy and limited new construction starts, signaling a new cycle for retail development.
The new Whole Foods Market will be the first in Cypress, adding to the ten existing Houston-area locations. Other confirmed tenants include Nordstrom Rack, Shake Shack, and various dining and service establishments. The retail district supports the rapidly growing Dunham Pointe community, which has sold over 1,000 new homes since 2021, providing essential amenities and services for residents. This investment marks a significant step in realizing the vision for a complete, amenity-rich community, attracting further multifamily, townhome, and medical facility development.
