H-E-B Acquires Over 20 Acres for New Supermarket in Southwest Fort Worth
H-E-B, the San Antonio-based supermarket company, has announced the acquisition of over 20 acres in southwest Fort Worth for a new store. The site is strategically located at the northeast corner of Chisholm Trail Parkway and Oakmont Boulevard, within the 250-acre Overland community, which is part of the larger Edwards Ranch development managed by Cassco, the Edwards family's real estate and development arm.
Construction for the new H-E-B store is anticipated to commence early next year, with an expected opening in late 2028. This development is part of H-E-B's ongoing expansion into the North Texas market, responding to customer demand for a location closer to downtown Fort Worth. Cassco President Crawford Edwards emphasized the shared values of thoughtful development and investment in the community.
The new supermarket will be situated across Chisholm Trail Parkway from the nearly 75-acre Autobahn Fort Worth dealership, currently under construction. This land purchase by H-E-B, which operates over 450 stores, signals continued retail growth and development opportunities in the rapidly expanding southwest Fort Worth area for developers and investors.
