Jun Crown Properties, an entity of the Kent family's Kent & Co. Property, is nearing approval to acquire four downtown Fort Worth properties from the city for $4.3 million. The acquisition includes the seven-story Lone Star Gas Building at 908 Monroe St. and the four-story Gordon Swift building at 900 Monroe St., along with two adjacent parking lots. The family business, led by Will Churchill and Corrie Watson, specializes in redeveloping existing assets rather than new construction.

The Gordon Swift building, to be renamed The Winston, is planned for retail, office, and residential use, with condominiums likely occupying two or three floors. The historic 1929 Art Deco Lone Star Gas Building will primarily be converted into office space, with plans to preserve its distinctive lobby. The city had used these properties, totaling 222,239 square feet, before relocating to a new city hall. The sale is expected to close by November 5, pending city council approval on October 13. This investment marks a return to downtown for the Kent family, contributing to the area's ongoing revitalization efforts, which include the new Texas A&M-Fort Worth campus and convention center renovations. For developers and investors, this project signifies continued confidence in downtown Fort Worth's potential for adaptive reuse and mixed-use growth.
