The mixed-use development planned for 6518 San Pablo Avenue in Oakland has advanced, with the project receiving several building permits this week. Concurrently, the development team has unveiled a new rendering, offering an updated visual representation of the approved structure. While the design has seen primarily aesthetic modifications, the core plans for height and unit count remain consistent with the earlier approval.

Designed by Design Manou, who also serves as the applicant through Project Zero LLC, the infill project is set to introduce 10 new residential units. It will also feature a street-facing commercial space. The building is projected to be approximately 40 feet tall, encompassing around 8,555 square feet, with about 380 square feet dedicated to the ground-floor commercial area. The exterior will incorporate a blend of brick veneer, various siding types, and stucco, featuring a distinct, articulated façade with diverse colors.

Located on a narrow parcel between 65th and 66th Streets, near Oakland's borders with Berkeley and Emeryville, the issuance of permits signals a significant step towards the project's construction phase, bringing new housing and retail opportunities to the area.
