Crews are actively progressing on a new four-story mixed-use complex located at 6501 Shattuck Avenue in North Oakland's Bushrod neighborhood. The development, spearheaded by Magganas Properties through Bruder LLC, has concrete work extending past the first floor. Upon completion, the 43-foot-tall structure will feature 18 residential units situated above a substantial ground-floor retail area.

The project is designed by Moshe Dinar of Dinar & Associates and will yield 25,310 square feet in total, including 15,775 square feet for residential use and 1,980 square feet for retail. The residential component will offer a mix of six studios, six one-bedroom, and six two-bedroom apartments. Additionally, a 710-square-foot roof deck will provide neighborhood views.

Situated on a 0.2-acre parcel at the intersection of Shattuck Avenue and 65th Street, the site offers convenient access, being less than a ten-minute walk from the Ashby BART Station. Construction costs are estimated at approximately $3 million, excluding all development expenses, with an anticipated completion timeline of about 12 months from groundbreaking. This development will add new housing and commercial vitality to a transit-rich area of Oakland.
