Councilmember Heather Hutt's office has initiated a review by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks to identify new park opportunities within the park-poor 10th Council District. Seven sites are currently under evaluation, comprising both city-owned and private properties.

Three of the sites are owned by the City of Los Angeles, including parcels near the Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw Plaza Mall at 3700 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, lots at 3791 S. Arlington Avenue, and a segment of Wilton Place north of Pico Boulevard. The MLK Boulevard site was previously eyed for commercial redevelopment, but that proposal is no longer moving forward.

The remaining four properties are privately owned, including infill sites at 354 S. Kingsley Drive in Koreatown and 4600 St. Elmo Drive in Mid-City. Notably, two Koreatown sites, 621-643 S. Vermont Avenue and 3201-3213 Wilshire Boulevard, were once considered for high-rise mixed-use towers. Additionally, 3720 Wilshire Boulevard, known as Beneficial Park, is under consideration; its owner, Jamison Services, previously sought a 36-story high-rise but now plans to retain the green space and convert an existing office building to housing. Recreation and Parks staff will propose acquisition mechanisms, though funding availability remains uncertain.
