San Jose Planning Commission to Review Plans for 80-Home Development at Former School Site

The San Jose Planning Commission is set to evaluate a proposal for a new residential development at 511 Cozy Drive. The project, led by The True Life Company through TTLC San Jose Glider, LLC, seeks to transform a 9.5-acre vacant school campus into 80 new homes. Plans detail the construction of 72 structures, comprising 64 single-family houses and eight attached duplexes, designed in bungalow and Craftsman styles by SDG Architects.

Located in the Glider neighborhood of southern San Jose, near Santa Teresa County Park, the development will also incorporate approximately two acres of public right-of-way and a 0.9-acre landscaped park with amenities like a lawn and children's play area. The former Glider Elementary School site was acquired by The True Life Company in 2022 for over $26 million. Construction is projected to span around 44 months from its commencement. The commission meeting is scheduled for August 26th, offering a hybrid attendance option for public participation. This review marks a significant step for a project that will add substantial housing to a suburban area.
