Extra Space Storage Plans 891-Unit Facility in Glen Rock, New Jersey

Extra Space Storage is set to open an 891-unit self-storage facility in Glen Rock, a community in Northern New Jersey. Shadowbrook Capital is developing the three-story building at 161 Harristown Road, which will offer about 92,175 net rentable square feet. Unit sizes range from five-by-five-foot lockers to 10-by-30-foot bays.

JLL brokers Michael Klein, Nazario Paragano and Michael Donohoe arranged construction financing for the project through Provident Bank. The loan amount was not disclosed.

The article says Shadowbrook acquired the site in late 2025 and that the site is fully entitled, meaning the required approvals are already in hand. Extra Space expects to begin operations sometime next year.

For developers and lenders, the deal shows continued capital flowing into self-storage in suburban New Jersey markets where fully approved sites are available to buy and finance.
