Newmark Secures $310 Million Construction Loan for Large Jersey City Multifamily Development
Newmark recently facilitated a substantial $310 million construction loan for a significant multifamily development in Jersey City, New Jersey. The financing supports the first phase of a project at 555 Summit Avenue, which will feature an 873-unit building. This initial phase is part of a broader development by Namdar Group, planned to deliver a total of 1,542 units across two phases.
The 47-story building at 555 Summit Avenue will offer a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments, alongside 2,300 square feet of retail space. Future residents can expect a range of amenities, including a fitness center, a rooftop lounge, a clubroom, and dedicated coworking spaces. Jordan Roeschlaub, Nick Scribani, Max Ralby, and Dante DiStefano of Newmark were responsible for arranging the financing for the borrower, Namdar Group.
This project underscores continued investment in Jersey City's residential market, indicating strong developer confidence and a growing demand for new housing stock in the region. For developers and lenders, securing such a large construction loan highlights the viability of substantial urban infill projects.
