Walnut Creek Design Review Commission to Evaluate 100-Unit Senior Living Proposal
The Walnut Creek Design Review Commission is set to evaluate plans for the Ivy Residential Care Facility, a proposed senior housing development located at 1350 Montego Way in Contra Costa County. Project sponsor and site owner O & I Development intends to redevelop an existing commercial office complex into a hundred-unit residential care community.
Architectural plans prepared by B.Hills Architecture detail a 41-foot-tall structure spanning approximately 75,750 square feet, which dedicates roughly 64,800 square feet to residential space. Proposed ground-floor amenities feature an open-air central courtyard, dining facilities, and common areas. The site design includes surface parking accommodations for 82 vehicles alongside storage capacity for 100 bicycles, with landscape planning managed by Gates Studio.
Positioned on a three-acre parcel between Ygnacio Valley Road and La Casa Via, the property sits near John Muir Memorial Hospital and offers transit connections to the Walnut Creek BART Station. Construction timelines and financial estimates remain undisclosed pending design review.
This redevelopment highlights continuing demand for senior-oriented residential infill repositioning underutilized suburban commercial parcels near key healthcare hubs.
