Norwalk Approves Mixed-Use Project with 120 Homes and New Hotel on Firestone Boulevard
The City of Norwalk has given its approval for a significant redevelopment project located at 12500 Firestone Boulevard. This initiative involves razing the existing 230-room Hotel Saddleback on a 7.7-acre property adjacent to the I-5 Freeway. The approved plans allocate approximately 5.9 acres for a residential component by Brandywine Homes, which will introduce 120 new single-family homes and townhomes. These two- and three-story residences will offer a mix of three- and four-bedroom floor plans.
The remaining 1.8 acres at the eastern end of the site are designated for a new four-story, 130-room hotel, developed by Vaidehi Inc. Angeleno Associates is designing the residential units, while Flores Design Group is responsible for the hotel's architecture. Parking for over 400 vehicles is also part of the comprehensive plan. This project was adopted as an amendment to the Heart of Norwalk Specific Plan, a 2021 policy designed to encourage the development of more than 3,000 homes in the area southwest of the I-5 Freeway, signifying a continued push for housing and economic growth in the region.
