Pasadena’s Calstart Rebrands as Catalyst Mobility, Expands Zero-Emission Vehicle Initiatives with Forth Merger
The Pasadena-based zero-emission vehicle industry consortium, Calstart, has officially rebranded as Catalyst Mobility, with the name change taking effect on September 14. This strategic move, overseen by new chief executive Michael Berube, aims to better reflect the organization's role in accelerating clean transportation initiatives.
Simultaneously, Catalyst Mobility announced its merger with Forth, a smaller nonprofit based in Portland, Oregon, focused on advancing clean transportation. This merger is expected to significantly increase Catalyst Mobility's operational scale and revenue, expanding its reach beyond its historical California focus to a national and global level.
Founded in 1992, the consortium, now with over 200 members, has been instrumental in facilitating deals and administering state and federal grants for commercial zero-emission vehicle purchases and the deployment of related infrastructure, such as charging stations. For developers, logistics companies, and property owners, this expansion signals a growing push for supportive policies and funding for EV charging infrastructure and zero-emission fleets across diverse geographies, impacting future site planning and investment.
