Updated renderings from SVA Architects offer a closer look at a planned workforce housing complex situated at 315 N. Pasadena Avenue, on the former Roosevelt Elementary School campus in Pasadena. Developed by Education Housing Partners, the project proposes 110 homes, comprising apartments and townhomes, specifically for Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) staff. The development will also feature a 5,000-square-foot community center and parking for 223 vehicles.

All residences are slated to be offered at below-market rental rates, with 30 percent designated as affordable for individuals earning up to 80 percent of the area median income. SVA Architects' design incorporates Spanish Revival style buildings, standing two or three stories tall, characterized by white stucco exteriors, red terracotta tile roofs, and common landscaped areas. The project's masonry and stucco construction is fire-resistant, a relevant consideration given that 120 PUSD employees lost homes in the Eaton Fire nearly two years prior. Construction is projected to commence in the third quarter of 2027, with completion expected over approximately two years. This initiative represents a significant effort to address housing needs for essential workers in the region.
