CLARE|MATRIX Plans $50 Million Redevelopment of Santa Monica Pico Campus
CLARE|MATRIX, an operator of behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services, is advancing plans for a substantial redevelopment of its Pico Campus in Santa Monica. The project, located at 901 W. Pico Boulevard, involves demolishing three existing buildings to construct a new four-story, approximately 26,000-square-foot facility.
The proposed expansion includes a single level of subterranean parking for 17 vehicles. The new building is designed to add 90 beds, increasing capacity to include 15 detox beds, 115 residential treatment beds (75 new), and 60 outpatient treatment slots serving 300 individuals annually. The State of California awarded CLARE|MATRIX over $50 million in funding for this project last year. The design team for the expansion comprises Felderman Keatinge + Associates and Arcaforma.
While the CLARE|MATRIX Pico Campus has operated since the 1970s, formal applications for this redevelopment have not yet been submitted. This significant investment in behavioral health infrastructure highlights a growing demand for such facilities and the availability of state funding for critical social services development.
