MDNI Group Acquires Santa Monica Multifamily Property from Receivership for $23.5M
MDNI Group has acquired a 28-unit coastal multifamily property located at 901 Ocean Ave. in Santa Monica for $23.5M. This transaction, which also involved the assumption of approximately $2.4M in related obligations, was executed through a court-supervised receivership. CBRE represented the court-appointed receiver in the sale.
The property was previously owned by Coastline Real Estate Investments, which had purchased the three-story building in 2021 for $33M, indicating a notable shift in valuation. The sale price translates to over $839K per unit.
Beyond this significant receivership sale, the Southern California market saw other key developments. Shopoff Realty Investments received unanimous approval from the Buena Park City Council for a 13.76-acre residential project at 5600 Beach Blvd., planning 231 townhomes and duplex units, plus 50 affordable senior housing units. Additionally, Lennar unveiled a 351-residence project in Carson, featuring condos and townhomes, with sales commencing.
These varied transactions highlight an active and evolving real estate landscape, presenting diverse opportunities and challenges for developers and investors in the region.
