The San Francisco Planning Commission is scheduled to review a proposed expansion for the GLIDE Foundation's facilities at 330 Ellis Street in the city's Tenderloin neighborhood. The project, which has undergone revisions since its initial report in March 2022, involves replacing a surface parking lot at 334 Ellis Street with a new seven-story social services building. This new structure will connect to GLIDE's existing facilities at 330 Ellis Street and the GLIDE Memorial Church.

The proposed building will add 45,760 square feet of space, more than doubling GLIDE's current 36,540 square feet of social services facilities. The design, by Heller Manus Architects, features a sand-toned cement plaster exterior with stone or ceramic details, rising to 96 feet. The conditional use permits under discussion are crucial for the project to proceed with its revised design plan from September of last year. This expansion will enable the self-sponsoring Glide Foundation to enhance its social services and community programs for the city, particularly benefiting the local community already in the vicinity of the Ellis Street site.
