Thompson Thrift Starts 273-Unit Multifamily Project in Fishers, Indiana
Thompson Thrift has broken ground on The Crossing Lofts at Fishers District, a 273-unit luxury multifamily community in Fishers, a suburb of Indianapolis. The project sits in the southern portion of the company's Fishers District master plan, which is anchored by the 7,500-seat Fishers Event Center.
The four-story building will include studio, one- and two-bedroom units of up to 1,440 square feet. It will also feature 10,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and attached structured parking. Planned amenities include a heated pool, fitness center, courtyards, a pet spa, a coffee bar, focus suites, resident conference space and a temperature-controlled food delivery station called the Minnow Pod.
First residents are expected to move in January 2028. Thompson Thrift began work on Fishers District in 2015. When finished, the $750 million, 123-acre development is expected to include five distinct projects with multifamily and townhome homes, hotels, offices, dining, shopping and entertainment, linked by pedestrian paths. The Crossing at Fishers District alone will have more than 75,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space, a 125-room hotel and nearly 500 multifamily units.
For developers and lenders, the project shows a mixed-use, phased approach in a suburban Indianapolis submarket, where apartments are paired with retail and entertainment anchors.
