Azimuth Development Sells Bronx Charter School Property for $54.5M
Azimuth Development Group has completed the sale of an educational facility at 801 Bartholdi Street in the East Bronx to Equality Charter School for $54.5 million. The deed transfer was executed by Azimuth President Guido Subotovsky, according to municipal property records.
The 63,000-square-foot facility, completed in 2025 as a build-to-suit project, serves as an elementary school with capacity for 900 students. The building includes two cafeterias, a gymnasium, and 6,000 square feet of dedicated rooftop recreational space. Equality Charter School operates multiple facilities across the Bronx, including locations on White Plains Road, Hutchinson River Parkway East, and Seward Avenue.
Founded in 2009, Azimuth focuses on affordable housing, market-rate residential units, and community-oriented mixed-use developments, totaling more than 1 million square feet across New York City. The transaction demonstrates continuing institutional demand and viable exit strategies for developers delivering specialized, build-to-suit educational infrastructure within dense urban submarkets.
