The Terner Center at UC Berkeley has announced the appointment of four distinguished experts as Policy Fellows, aiming to leverage their extensive experience in housing policy and practice to develop innovative solutions for housing affordability and accessibility. These fellows will contribute significantly to the Center's broader housing research initiatives.

The new cohort includes Laura Arce, Senior Vice President for Economic Initiatives at UnidosUS, known for the Home Ownership Means Equity (HOME) initiative. Pedro Galvao, founder of Luminaria, brings substantial expertise in shaping California housing policy, including his role in establishing the California Housing and Homelessness Agency. Benjamin Preis, Principal at Urban Research Advisors, previously directed the U.S.-based National Housing Crisis Task Force. Aaron Shroyer, Director of Policy and Advocacy at the National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders, formerly served as a special assistant for housing policy to President Joe Biden.

Managing Director Ben Metcalf emphasized that these fellows offer crucial insights to advance evidence-informed policymaking. Their collective knowledge is expected to inform developers, architects, brokers, and lenders on practical policy solutions to address pressing housing challenges across the nation and within California.
