The Terner Center for Housing Innovation has introduced its inaugural cohort of Terner Student Fellows, selecting three graduate students from UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design. Established to mark the 30th anniversary of affordable housing pioneer I. Donald Terner's passing, the program prepares emerging professionals for careers in housing finance, policy, and development.

The fellows bring practical industry experience across project planning, tax-credit finance, and community investment. Grace Daniels joins the program with a background in 4 percent and 9 percent Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, historic tax credits, and workforce housing transactions. Christie Li brings urban planning experience from San Francisco's Chinatown Community Development Center, where she worked on neighborhood economic development and municipal budget initiatives. Isabel Tapogna previously evaluated Affordable Housing Program applications as an analyst for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston.

The fellowship strengthens the pipeline of specialized talent capable of navigating complex public-private partnerships, housing subsidies, and entitlement structures across California and national markets.
