Beverly Hills Weighs Proposal for 23-Unit Apartment Building
The Beverly Hills Planning Commission is reviewing a proposal from Suite Homes LLC to replace two duplexes at 227-231 North Swall Drive with a seven-story apartment building. The proposed structure would feature 23 residences, ranging from one- to four-bedroom floor plans.
To achieve the proposed scale, the developer is seeking density bonus incentives. In exchange, four of the units will be designated as affordable housing for very low-, low-, and moderate-income households. The Majid Nael & Associates-designed building plans include a gym, a rooftop deck, and parking for 41 vehicles.
This development is situated two blocks south of a controversial 26-story tower project from Crescent Heights, which was approved under the builder’s remedy. The City of Beverly Hills is tasked with planning for 3,104 new housing units by 2029 to meet state mandates, with a significant portion required to be affordable.
