Plans for a new affordable housing development in Long Beach are progressing following the release of a draft environmental impact report (EIR). The project, located at 3401 Cerritos Avenue near the 405 Freeway, is spearheaded by West Hollywood Community Housing Corp. and designed by Urban Architecture Lab.

The proposed development features a two-, three-, and five-story building that will house 73 deed-restricted affordable apartments. These units will offer a variety of floor plans, including one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom options, alongside 86 parking spaces. Amenities are planned to include a courtyard, community room, laundry facilities, and a fitness room.

This project marks an expansion for West Hollywood Community Housing Corp., which is known for its work in its namesake city but has recently undertaken developments in other Los Angeles County jurisdictions like Culver City and Los Angeles. The completion of construction is estimated to take approximately 16 months once work commences. The progression of the EIR signifies a crucial step in the regulatory approval process for this significant affordable housing initiative.
