Wood Framing Nears Completion for 281-Unit Mixed-Use Development in Long Beach
Wood framing is nearing completion for a significant mixed-use development by Holland Partner Group at 6700 Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach. This 590,000-square-foot project, designed by AC Martin, will replace an existing office building with 281 new apartments, ranging from studios to three-bedroom units. A key aspect of its approval mandates that 13 of these apartments be designated for very low-income households, addressing local affordability needs.
The development also incorporates 3,100 square feet of ground-floor retail space and parking for 507 vehicles. Holland Partner Group acquired the 2.5-acre site for $41 million in 2022. This project is part of a broader wave of development in the vicinity; two other firms, Onni Group and Carmel Partners, are also planning substantial housing projects at 6500 and 6615 Pacific Coast Highway, respectively. The collective activity signifies a notable transformation of this corridor. For developers and investors, this cluster of projects highlights a growing market for multi-family and mixed-use properties in Long Beach, driven by demand and strategic site acquisitions.
