Meta Housing Completes 163-Unit Affordable Housing Project in Long Beach
Construction has concluded on Luma Point, a significant affordable housing development located at 1400 Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach. Developed by Los Angeles-based Meta Housing Corp., the project introduces a new six-story building featuring 163 apartments. These units, comprising one, two, and three-bedroom layouts, are designated for renters within the 30 to 70 percent area median income bracket.
The Architects Collective designed the podium-type structure, which includes amenities such as a community room, an outdoor courtyard, and a children's play area. The development, valued at over $87 million at the time of its inception, aims to address the ongoing need for accessible housing options in Southern California. Meta Housing Corp. has a track record of similar projects, including another 194-unit complex at 2400 Long Beach Boulevard. This completion adds crucial inventory to the region's affordable housing stock.
