Intracorp Homes Unveils Gable House Mixed-Use Apartments in Torrance

Exterior wrapping has been removed at The Gable House Apartments, a newly built mixed-use development located at 22501 Hawthorne Boulevard in Torrance. Developed by Intracorp Homes on the 3.8-acre former site of the Gable House Bowl, the complex introduces 218 studio, one-, and two-bedroom residential units alongside 12,000 square feet of ground-level commercial space.

Designed by VTBS Architects, the wrap-style development encloses a central parking structure accommodating 460 vehicles. Architectural features reference the postmodern gabled roofs of the original bowling alley. Amenity spaces include a fitness center, swimming pool, co-working areas, and outdoor decks. The project team also includes interior design firm Preen, Inc., landscape architect Urban Arena, and general contractor Snyder Langston.

Market-rate monthly rents span between $3,042 and $5,082. In compliance with local approval conditions, the development reserves 17 units as income-restricted affordable housing.

For multifamily developers and investors, the project demonstrates how suburban infill sites and obsolete commercial properties can be repositioned into higher-density, mixed-use residential assets with structured parking.
