Construction Advances on 408-Unit Carina at MainPlace Apartments in Santa Ana

Construction is progressing on The Carina at MainPlace, an eight-story multifamily development located at 2828 N. MainPlace Drive in Santa Ana, adjacent to the MainPlace Mall. General contractor W.E. O'Neil's social media posts confirm the project, which broke ground earlier this year, is actively underway.

Developed by Lowe in partnership with property owner Affinius Capital and Centennial, the complex will feature 408 apartments. These units will offer a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom layouts. Designed by AC Martin, The Carina will include podium and subterranean parking, along with a range of amenities such as a fourth-floor pool deck, outdoor dining areas, a landscaped courtyard, a fitness center, and co-working spaces. The architectural design emphasizes a modern aesthetic with "slim articulated frames" and "smooth metal panels and light-colored plaster."

Completion for The Carina at MainPlace is anticipated in 2028. This project builds upon previous development in the area, following the 2023 completion of the 309-unit Paloma apartments located nearby at 2727 N. MainPlace Drive. This new addition signifies continued investment in high-density residential offerings within Santa Ana's commercial corridors.
