Weitzman Acquires Fully Leased Helotes Plaza Shopping Center
A limited partnership managed by Weitzman has acquired Helotes Plaza, a 51,933-square-foot shopping center on the northwestern edge of San Antonio, Texas. At the time of the sale the center was fully occupied by a mix of national and local tenants, including Dollar Tree, Advance Auto Parts, Dairy Queen, Harbor Health, Subway, Kumon and Momentum Physical Therapy.
David Nicolson and Stephen Schmidt of Weitzman negotiated the transaction for the buyer. SRS Real Estate Partners represented the seller, which was not named in the report. The article does not disclose the purchase price or the closing terms.
The acquisition adds a leased, multi-tenant neighborhood retail property to the Weitzman portfolio in the San Antonio area. The tenant roster combines everyday retail, food service, medical and fitness uses, and the report describes the center as fully leased at closing.
Practical implication: buyers and lenders evaluating similar strip centers should review lease expirations, tenant credit and renewal options, since those details were not covered in the report.
