Carrier Corp. has selected Fort Worth for a $600 million advanced manufacturing and engineering center, the largest single-facility investment in the company's history. The project is expected to create 1,500 jobs, and the city beat out three other finalists to win it.

The Fort Worth City Council approved a seven-year tax abatement valued at $10.9 million on Sept. 15. The city also nominated the company for a Texas Enterprise Zone grant estimated at $2.5 million. A city presentation projected $5.8 million in net new taxes over seven years after incentives and inflation.

The plant is planned for the Alliance Westport 12 building, a facility of more than one million square feet at 1501 Distribution Drive in AllianceTexas. An October state filing also referenced a separate $500 million project called Project Jay at the same site, with construction slated to begin Dec. 1 and Gray AES listed as architect. Carrier expects to begin operations at the site in 2027. The facility is expected to pursue LEED certification.

The investment is part of Carrier's May 2025 pledge of $1 billion over five years in U.S. manufacturing. Carrier plans to partner with local schools and colleges to train workers.

For developers and financiers, the project signals continued demand for large industrial space in AllianceTexas and a pipeline of incentive-backed manufacturing deals in the Fort Worth area.
