Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership president and CEO Robert Allen told attendees at the group's annual meeting that the city has attracted $1.9 billion in new capital investment and 4,100 new jobs so far this year. He said the partnership handled more than 180 inbound projects and inquiries in 2026, including 13 wins and seven more in final stages. Aerospace and defense, advanced manufacturing and corporate operations led the increase in activity, and prospects include companies from Taiwan, Germany and Australia.

Alcon plans a $186 million expansion of its Fort Worth campus with two manufacturing lines and 241 jobs. Separately, AeternZ Semiconductor, a subsidiary of Taiwan's King Yuan Electronics, bought land and buildings at 273 W. Everman Parkway for $79.4 million, according to a Taiwan Stock Exchange filing. The site spans 1.18 million square feet with about 489,500 square feet of buildings. City council approved a 10-year abatement of up to 65% of city taxes, with an estimated value of $50 million. The company must invest at least $1.3 billion and hire 630 workers by December 2028.

Lighthouse Electric Co. is also weighing a Fort Worth plant for modular electrical solutions that could bring 600 jobs.

For developers and financiers, the takeaway is that site selection timelines are compressing, so incentive packages and entitlement readiness may decide whether projects proceed.
