Renderings Revealed for 110-Unit Workforce Housing Project in Pasadena
A new workforce housing development planned for 315 N. Pasadena Avenue is progressing, with its design set for review by the City's Design Commission on August 11. The project, located on the former Roosevelt Elementary School campus, proposes 110 homes specifically for Pasadena Unified employees. Education Housing Partners is developing the complex, which includes a mix of apartments and townhomes, with half of the units designated as deed-restricted affordable housing.
Designed by SVA Architects, the development features eight buildings, each two to three stories tall, characterized by a Mediterranean architectural style. This includes stucco cladding, clay tile roofing, and arched ground floor openings. Beyond residential units, the plans incorporate a 5,000-square-foot community center and parking for 223 vehicles. In 2024, proposed rents for the one- to four-bedroom homes ranged from $600 to $3,500 monthly, offering a variety of options. The project's advancement through the design review process is a key step for delivering much-needed housing for local school staff.
