Toll Brothers Begins Construction on 43 Homes at Former Church Site in Redondo Beach
Toll Brothers has initiated construction on a 43-unit townhome development at 122 Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach, on a site previously occupied by a Catholic church. The project, which received approvals from Redondo Beach planning officials in February 2026, was entitled by City Ventures. City Ventures secured authorization for a larger development than typically permitted by agreeing to include three units designated for very low-income households, leveraging a density bonus mechanism.
The new community will feature three-story buildings with floor plans ranging from 1,400 to 2,200 square feet. Asking prices for these homes are expected to start at $2 million, targeting the high-end coastal market. Model homes are anticipated to open in 2027. This development signifies the conversion of institutional land into residential use, adding new housing supply, including affordable components, in a highly desirable Southern California location. For developers and investors, this project illustrates the potential for density bonuses to facilitate larger-scale residential projects in constrained urban environments.
