The West Hollywood Planning Commission is scheduled to review a proposal for a 34-story mixed-use high-rise at 1000 La Brea Avenue, on the former site of a Cemex plant. Developed by CIM Group and designed by Large Architecture, the project aims to become the tallest building in the City of West Hollywood, standing approximately 377 feet tall.

The development plan includes 514 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments, alongside 30,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a 676-car garage. As a condition for development incentives, CIM Group would allocate 128 of these apartments as affordable housing, targeting moderate-, low-, and very low-income levels. The building's design incorporates terrace decks, outdoor gardens, and exterior finishes like wood-finish metal mullions and frosted glass.

Staff reports highlight the site's transitional location between West Hollywood and Los Angeles, noting a shift from industrial uses to public-facing commercial, residential, and hospitality developments. The project is seen as a visual and functional gateway into West Hollywood. Digital signage on the podium levels is also proposed, generating revenue for both CIM Group and the city. Approval would represent a major step forward for this significant urban transformation.
