Groundbreaking Imminent for 368-Unit Apartment Complex at 3150 El Camino Real, Palo Alto
The 3150 El Camino Real development in Palo Alto is preparing for an imminent groundbreaking, bringing 368 new apartment units to the Santa Clara County market. City approval for the seven-story structure was granted last summer. This substantial project, a collaboration between Acclaim Companies and Stanford University, is reported to include 754 deed-restricted affordable units, targeting households earning between 50% and 80% of the area’s median income.
The 85-foot-tall building will encompass approximately 627,740 square feet, with 443,500 square feet dedicated to residential use. The unit mix includes 12 studios, 231 one-bedrooms, 97 two-bedrooms, and 28 three-bedrooms. Parking provisions include space for 382 cars and 410 bicycles within a two-level basement garage. Studio T Square is the architect, designing a podium-style complex with a modern facade, while The Guzzardo Partnership handles landscape architecture, including sidewalk improvements and two podium-top courtyards.
Located on a 2.5-acre property between Hansen Way and Page Mill Road, the site is strategically positioned near the California Avenue Caltrain Station, enhancing transit accessibility for future residents. This development addresses the ongoing demand for housing in the region, particularly affordable options, and represents a significant addition to Palo Alto's housing stock. The Board of Trustees of Stanford University is listed as the property owner.
