Renderings Unveiled for 269-Unit Residential Plan at 3350 West Bayshore Road

A residential proposal at 3350 West Bayshore Road in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County, has moved forward with a formal application and new renderings. The project would replace an existing office building with 269 homes, including 244 rental apartments and 25 for-sale townhouse-style units.

San Francisco-based Strada Investment Group is the project sponsor. BDE Architecture is designing the apartment complex, SDG Architects is designing the townhouses, and The Guzzardo Partnership is the landscape architect. The roughly 88-foot-tall building is expected to total about 368,000 square feet, with 208,010 square feet of housing and a podium garage. Unit mix includes 60 studios, 112 one-bedrooms and 72 two-bedrooms. Fourteen units would be deed-restricted for very low-income households.

Strada bought the 4.08-acre site from Alexandria Real Estate Equities in December 2025 for $29 million. The existing roughly 60,000-square-foot life sciences building is slated for demolition. The applicant is seeking streamlined review and additional residential capacity above base zoning under Senate Bill 330 and the State Density Bonus law. The site sits west of US 101, and the estimated construction cost and timeline have not been disclosed.

For developers and lenders, the filing shows how SB 330 and density bonus tools can be combined to add substantial housing on a former commercial parcel.
