DPR Construction Breaks Ground on $230 Million Kaiser Permanente Medical Offices in Westminster, CO
DPR Construction has begun work on the new Westminster Medical Offices for Kaiser Permanente in Westminster, Colorado, following an announcement on October 9. The project, valued at $230 million, represents Kaiser Permanente's most substantial brick-and-mortar investment in Colorado since 2011. The three-story, 132,000-square-foot facility will be located directly south of the existing Westminster Medical Offices on Huron Street, which opened in 1976.
Upon completion in 2028, the new offices will provide a comprehensive range of services, including an outpatient surgery center, urgent care, primary and specialty care, OB-GYN services, a pharmacy, laboratory services, medical imaging, and pediatrics, serving patients in the North Denver area. A key aspect of the construction by Santa Clara, California-based DPR Construction involves extensive use of prefabricated and modular components for structural steel, exterior facades, interior spaces, and MEP systems. This approach aims to enhance schedule certainty and reduce jobsite complexity, particularly beneficial for intricate healthcare environments. This project underscores DPR's commitment to prefabrication, a method it has invested in significantly.
