The Gardens at Casa Familia Completes 50-Unit Affordable Housing Project for Adults with Disabilities in Kendall
Construction has concluded on The Gardens at Casa Familia, a four-story affordable residential development located at 11025 SW 84th Street in Kendall, Miami-Dade County. This project, developed by the nonprofit Casa Familia in partnership with Pinnacle, features 50 one-bedroom apartments tailored for adults with intellectual, developmental, and other related disabilities. PC Building, LLC served as the general contractor, with Studio Mc+G Architecture providing design services.
The Gardens represents Phase III of the broader Casa Familia campus, which aims to create a supportive community for its residents. Amenities include a gym, community room, exterior gazebo, zen garden, and electric vehicle charging stations. The apartments incorporate smart technology to facilitate independent living, and residents also have access to the campus's shared community center and its diverse programming.
Bank of America acted as the construction lender and provided investment equity through the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program. Public partners involved in the project include Miami-Dade County and the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. The completion of The Gardens expands critical housing options, building on the success of Phase I, The Village at Casa Familia, which is fully occupied. Phase II, The Residences, remains under construction, with Casa Familia actively seeking an additional $3.2 million in funding to finalize this portion of the development by the end of 2026.
