Westplan Advances 304-Unit Accent Daytona on Former Church Site in Daytona Beach
Westplan Investors is advancing Accent Daytona, a revised version of a project first reported by Florida YIMBY in November 2022. The earlier plan called for 250 units across five mid-rise buildings. The current proposal shrinks the footprint to four buildings with 304 residences totaling 306,917 square feet of apartment space.
The development will include a pet spa, fitness center and co-working space, along with 423 parking spots. Plans also call for 3,200 square feet of office space. Sources did not disclose the unit types or price points at the time of publication.
The site at 200 W International Speedway Blvd in Daytona Beach was previously home to a Baptist church that was demolished in 2019. The vacant parcel sold for $6.25 million in 2021. Atlanta-based Westplan Development has built other Accent projects across the American South, including in North Carolina and Georgia.
The article cites RentCafé for an average apartment cost of about $1,600 a month in Volusia County.
For developers and lenders, the project shows a former institutional site in Volusia County moving toward a larger multifamily build with mixed-use components.
