Trademark Property Co. Breaks Ground on Whole Foods-Anchored Retail District in Cypress
Trademark Property Co., in partnership with MetLife Investment Management, has broken ground on Dunham Pointe, a 202,000-square-foot retail and restaurant development in Cypress, Texas. The project, financed by PNC Bank, is anchored by a new Whole Foods Market, marking its first location in the Cypress area. The 25-acre retail village, situated at Mason Road and Highway 290, has already secured commitments from 14 tenants, including Nordstrom Rack, Shake Shack, and Solidcore, with negotiations ongoing for an additional 65,000 square feet.
This retail center is an integral part of the larger 1,300-acre Dunham Pointe master-planned community, which has seen over 1,000 new homes sold since sales commenced in 2021. Terry Montesi, CEO of Trademark, noted the project signifies a new retail development cycle, responding to record-low national retail vacancy and an undersupplied market. Cary Dunham, Executive Vice President of Dunham Pointe Development, emphasized the retail component's role in creating a complete community, supported by the strong pace of home sales. The development addresses the demand for amenities and services in this expanding residential area.
