Whole Foods-Anchored Retail District Breaks Ground in Cypress, Texas
Trademark Property Co., in partnership with MetLife Investment Management, has broken ground on Dunham Pointe, a 202,000-square-foot retail and restaurant district in Cypress, Texas. The project, anchored by a new Whole Foods Market, secured financing from PNC Bank and is set to begin construction on October 1. So far, 14 tenants have committed to space within the development.
The 25-acre retail village, located at Mason Road and Highway 290, will feature a diverse mix of businesses including Nordstrom Rack, Shake Shack, Amorino Gelato, and Pepper Lunch. This Whole Foods will be the grocer's first location in Cypress, adding to its presence in the Houston area.
Dunham Pointe is an integral part of the larger 1,300-acre Dunham Pointe community, which has seen over 1,000 new home sales since 2021. The master plan developer, Dunham Pointe Development, intends to introduce multifamily housing, townhomes, medical facilities, and additional commercial uses to the area.
According to Terry Montesi, CEO of Trademark, the project marks the beginning of a new retail development cycle, responding to record-low national retail vacancy and an undersupplied market. This development addresses the growing demand for amenities and services within rapidly expanding master-planned communities, creating a complete environment for residents and businesses.
